FlipSid3 Tactics and HellRaisers have qualified for DreamHack Open Tours after breaking into the top two in the closed qualifier. Four seeded teams faced off against four sides coming from the open qualifiers in the closed qualifier for DreamHack Open Tours, a $40,000 championship to be held next month. The opening round of the tournament took predictions off course, with Property falling short against LDLC White and Gamers2 being downed to k1ck - which resulted in the second roster swap in the Polish team in less than a month.
The former Platinium-eSports side were then paired against one of the hottest teams at the moment, FlipSid3 Tactics, who had just come off winning the CIS LAN Championship. The first map of the series, de_mirage, went the way of LDLC, who ran out 16-11 winners on de_mirage. But the rest of the match was pretty much a one-way street as FlipSid3 posted 16-3 victories on de_cobblestone and de_inferno before closing it out with a 16-14 win on de_cache. In the other semi-final encounter, despite a great individual performance by Ricardo "fox" Pacheco, k1ck could not prevent HellRaisers from running riot, with the CIS team picking up 16-11, 16-9 and 16-8 victories on de_inferno, de_dust2 and de_mirage, respectively.
